Baneman Citadel

Citadel Baneman is located just off the motorway between Erbil and Pirmam (about 28 km northeast of Erbil). The Citadel is 28 metres high and dates back to the reign of King Soran. It is built of stone, has four circular towers, consists of two floors and is finished in alabaster.
Renovation of the citadel commenced in 2005.
